It is now more than a month since Rahul Gandhi became Congress President. What is the evidence of the RG touch in the Congress? What has changed? Gandhi loyalists say there is going to be no big bang reshuffle in the organisation. Right now, Gandhi is going by the relative success (or failure) of persons put in charge of specific states: RPN Singh is in charge of Jharkhand, PL Punia has been given charge of Chhattisgarh and so on. However, it is a measure of caution that the bigger states  still don’t have party chiefs. The biggest complaint against Gandhi was attention deficit. He was seen as being more attentive to his phone than the people he was talking to. But apparently that is now changing. Last week, Gandhi was in Shillong. He not only addressed public gatherings, but also made it a point to meet state functionaries in Meghalaya. His colleagues are tweeting on his behalf and his tweets now have an edge. But his supports concede that he still has a long way to go.
