Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal has referred to the House's privileges committee the breach of privilege motion against former Congress chief minister Ashok Gehlot for allegedly misrepresenting figures in the last budget.

BJP MLA Rao Rajendra Singh had moved the breach of privilege motion against Gehlot on Thursday after accusing him of deliberately misrepresenting figures in the 2013-14 budget.

The Speaker yesterday decided to refer the matter to the privileges panel.

Singh has alleged that, in the said budget, the then chief minister Gehlot, who also held the finance portfolio, showed a revenue surplus whereas the state actually had a revenue deficit.

He also charges that Gehlot showed a fiscal deficit of under 3% which, however, was more than that.

Gehlot had presented a surplus budget in March last year.
