Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said the Congress Vice-President is making all efforts to match Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who speaks his mind before the nation and is well-connected.

BJP Vice-President Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who was commenting on Gandhi's scheduled rallies in Uttar Pradesh today, said the Congress number two just talks about the policies of the country in bits and pieces.

"We hear Mr. Modi, we see Mr. Modi, and we know what Mr. Modi's views are. We barely come to know Mr. Rahul Gandhi's views, what he has to say. In bits and pieces, he talks about policies of the country. Well, I would not like to make any comment," said Rudy.

"But as far as Narendra Modi is concerned, he is visible, he speaks out his mind, he is there with the people, he is connecting with the people. I think it's an effort being made by Rahul Gandhi too match Mr. Narendra Modi," he added.

Rahul Gandhi, considered by many to be the Congress Party's face for 2014, is scheduled to address two rallies in Aligarh and Rampur today during which he is expected to draw the attention of the people on the UPA's achievements and attack the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party Government for its 'failures'.

Aligarh is seen as the epicentre of minority politics in the state, while Rampur is the home district of the Samajwadi Party's Muslim face and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Khan.

Rahul Gandhi may use this occasion to woo the minority community in the electorally important Uttar Pradesh.

BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will begin his campaign in the Uttar Pradesh from this month by addressing six-eight rallies in the state in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
