Thimpu to be first official foreign stop for Modi : MEA

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Friday confirmed that Prime minister Narendra Modi will embark on his first official foreign tour to Bhutan.

Modi's visit reflects the importance India attaches to its ties with Bhutan.

Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay was among the leaders from the neighbouring countries to attend Modi's swearing in on May 26.
