Although the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said Raj had gone to wish Uddhav, who celebrated his birthday two days ago, they were believed to have discussed a sensational claim by Uddhav Thackeray's older brother, Jaidev Thackeray, which has added a new twist to the battle over the will.
Last week, Jaidev said in court that his son, Aishwarya, was not really his. Jaidev dropped the bombshell while being cross-examined in court by his brother’s lawyer. Both Uddhav and Raj might soon visit Jaidev to bring about a compromise on the feud.
Jaidev, the second of Bal Thackeray's three sons, had challenged his father's will, which does not give him any share in his property but included Aishwarya, his son with former wife Smita Thackeray. However, Uddhav rubbished the allegation and insisted that his father’s will was genuine.
Meanwhile, a section of Shiv Sena and MNS admit that the meeting between Uddhav and Raj is crucial especially when the election to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation are slated for 2017. On top of it, BJP has geared up its preparations to go solo while breaking its over 25 year alliance in the civic body. Uddhav has also announced that the party was prepared to fight independently to retain its supremacy and may have discussed the political ramifications with Raj who so far has not hinted at allying with any party.
