"The recent verdict is a hasty action of Sheikh Hasina led Bangladesh government as a part of its India appeasement policy," UNLF's self-styled Senior Publicity Officer Ksh Yoiheiba said in a statement e-mailed to PTI here.
He said that Bangladesh must not forget the hospitality of the people of Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura toward refugees from the neighbouring country during the Liberation war.

The email said that the UNLF condemned the 'unjust' verdict and pledged its support to the appeal made by ULFA(I) to the Bangladesh government to reconsider and withdraw it.
Barua was sentenced to death in absentia along with 14 others by a Bangladesh court on January 30 for the seizure of 10-truckloads of weapons in Chittagong on April 2, 2004.
