Aqua Logistics to sponsor IITB's Vayu

Chennai, March 28, 2008: Integrated logistics solutions provider Aqua Logistics will sponsor IIT Bombay's Racing Team and take care of all supply chain management as well as related formalities when it participates in Formula SAE 08 to be held in Detroit, USA in May this year.

Aqua Logistics is readying to handle the entire logistics of IITB's entry into the racing circuit with its lightweight, technological marvel, a fast car aptly called "Vayu"; launched at the Open Air Theatre of IIT Bombay on Monday.

Aqua Logistics will provide financial support for the event, ensuring a trouble-free journey for Vayu. It will take care of all custom clearance requirements during the passage of the car from Mumbai to Detroit, and back.

Formula SAE is held by the Society of Automotive Engineers and is co-sponsored by a consortium of General Motors, the Ford Motor Company and Daimler-Chrysler. The event is considered to be the most prestigious engineering design competition at university level in the world and a breeding ground for future race car engineers and designers. It challenges students to design, build and race a one-man, open-wheeled race car, assuming that they have been engaged by a manufacturing firm to produce a prototype car for evaluation as a potential production item.
