Managing BITS Pilani's student learning experience with IT

BITS Pilani serves a unique learning experience across its three tiers of education namely integrated first degree, higher degree and doctoral programmes. The institute offers unsurpassed flexibility such as dual degrees, transfer from one degree programme to another, choice of electives, repetition of courses etc.

In addition, the university offers a unique method of managing and scheduling classes, all of which consumes a considerable amount of time.

BITS Pilani offers 50 programmes across its four campuses.

Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise applications, including PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HCM and PeopleSoft Global Payroll 9.1 will cover the complete student lifecycle and back office operations including human resources, payroll, inventory, purchase and asset management.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff will benefit from getting immediate access to real-time information.

Once implemented, BITS Pilani will be able to integrate and centralize all its operations between all four campuses, resulting in the following benefits:

  • Improved services to students
  • Automate Applicant-to-alumni services
  • Real-time information to all constituents
  • Reduced time to recruit employees
  • Reduced effort in IT and maintenance
  • Reduced paper and other direct costs
  • Increase in employee productivity
  • Increased visibility into operations

Wipro Ltd., a Platinum level partner of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) is implementing the solution.
