Bridgestone inaugurates 2nd 'Bridgestone Fleet Point' in Chennai

In continuation of its aggressive growth plans, Bridgestone, the world’s no 1 Tyre & Rubber manufacturer, has announced inauguration of its exclusive Bridgestone Fleet Point (BFP) at Anand & Co, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

BFP is a unique service-oriented network which helps fleets to reduce maintenance costs and optimize benefits from Bridgestone Radial tyres. The one-stop shop, spread over an area of around 5000 sq. ft, offers New TBR Tyres, Wheel alignment, Balancing, TBR repair, Nitrogen inflation, Tyre Management Services, & Expert Technical Advice for truck & bus customers.

The BFP was inaugurated on 11th Oct 2010 by Mr. T. Urano- Vice President and Senior Officer, International Tire Business Operations of Bridgestone Corporation, Japan, in presence of Mr. K. Kobayashi-GM, Bridgestone Asia Pacific, Mr. H. Tanigawa-MD, Bridgestone India, Mr. H. Mori-Director Sales & Marketing, Mr. M. Morimoto-GM Technical Services Dept, and other Company officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. T. Urano said “The market of India is changing rapidly and drastically year by year. Truck & Bus OE manufacturers are launching new Global Level Trucks & Buses. National Highway is expanding nationwide and it gives much opportunity for “Radialization” in Truck and Bus Tyres too. The India market and customers are now requiring more durable and better quality product”

In order to reiterate Bridgestone Commitment for India, Mr. Urano said “To meet market needs and changes, Bridgestone has decided to produce TBR tires at Kheda Factory and also to establish New Factory near Pune for further increase in both PSR and TBR production capacity at an investment of 26 Billion Rupees”.

Bridgestone India Pvt Ltd started its operation in 1996. In March 1998, Bridgestone started selling Passenger Car Radials from its manufacturing plant in Kheda, MP. In a short span of 13 years, Bridgestone India became one of preferred passenger radial brand in both OEM & Replacement market.
