Bristol-Myers Squibb India appoints new MD

Bristol Myers Squibb India today announced the appointment of Mr. Pheroze Khan as the Managing Director. Mr Khan returns to India after gaining a rich experience of 22 years as the business head in diverse markets. Mr. Khan was previously the Managing Director, BMS- Greece, where he successfully led the organization through unprecedented market conditions.

Mr. Khan has been highly successful in global as well as regional roles across diverse geographic markets. He brings to India a notable track record of his strategic leadership, and strong operational skills.

Taking forward the legacy of his predecessors, Mr. Khan would focus on developing the business in India and bringing vital medicines to patients who require them. He has successfully led the organization through unprecedented market conditions with his remarkable leadership qualities. With his dexterous handling of operations in BMS Greece, BMS India is also looking forward for a similar progress and success under his supervision.

Prior to BMS, Mr. Khan has worked with Hoechst AG (now part of Sanofi-Aventis) for more than 10 years in sales and marketing in India and Germany. He joined Bristol-Myers Squibb as a product manager in Australia in 1995. He worked in roles of increasing responsibility in Australia, rising to the position of Associate Director, Hypertension. In 2001, he relocated to Princeton as Director Marketing - Plavix, within Global Marketing. In 2004, he was relocated to Mexico as marketing director. In 2006, he was promoted to the position of Senior Director, Commercial Operations, for Latin America and Canada and then moved to the United States. In 2008, he relocated to Switzerland as the General Manager. Thereafter, he assumed the role of Managing Director -BMS Greece in 2010.

Mr. Khan succeeds Mr. Alok Sonig, who is now moving to the BMS office in Princeton as Vice-President, Business Model Innovation.
