Come summer and Disney Channel promises hearty laughs, light hearted fun and some heartwarming moments for the entire family with the premiere of its brand new family sitcom "Best of Luck Nikki" on April 3, 2011 at 11am. Whether you have been a teenager straddled with babysitting a kid, or an overwhelmed mom trying to make sense of teenage troubles and baby blues, or an over-worked dad trying to balance work and home, here is a show that will have you in splits while reminding you about the trials and joys of having a new baby in the house.
Natasha Malhotra, vice president and general manager, Walt Disney Television International India, said, "Disney is committed to entertaining Indian kids and families with great stories and lovable characters and Best of Luck Nikki is a wonderful example of this. It’s a delightful light hearted comedy full of fun and laughter that families are sure to enjoy!
Best of Luck Nikki follows the lives of the Singhs, an average Indian family comprising Mom, Dad and siblings Dolly, Rohan and Sunny as they attempt to handle the newest family entrant, baby Nikki. There is never a dull moment at the Singh household as baby Nikki loves to keep everyone engaged in her constant care. The kids endeavour to adjust to their new roles as guardians of the little girl while the parents attempt to balance work and baby care. Best of Luck Nikki promises a super summer as the entire family gets into hilarious predicaments and manage to escape to a happy ending. Nikki’s older sister, Dolly, lends the show a unique perspective in every episode as she films a video diary giving her baby sister advice on how to deal with and enjoy being a part of this amusing family. Indian households will certainly relate to the show’s engaging story lines focusing on fun, togetherness and family values, much like their own family.
"Best of Luck Nikki is rooted in universally acclaimed Disney storytelling values and provides refreshing entertainment that appeals to children and parents" adds Natasha.
Best of Luck Nikki’s talented cast comprises well known TV actress Gurdip Kohli and Girish Sahedev as Mrs. and Mr. Singh, Nikki’s overworked parents. Promising new stars Sheena Bajaj as Dolly, Nikki’s effervescent older sister, Akash Nair as the lovable Sunny, Disney Channel popular host Murtuza from Big Bada Boom as comedic Rohan and oh-so-cute Ananya Kolvankar as baby Nikki, complete the reel family. The show is directed by David Polycarp and produced by production house ‘The Company’.
