FUJIFILM launches A170 & A220 -- affordable, easy-to-use, stylish, compact digital cameras

FUJIFILM India Pvt. Ltd., the wholly owned subsidiary of FUJIFILM Corporation, Japan, one of the world’s largest photographic solutions company, today announced the launch and availability of two new “A” Series compact cameras: the A170 and the A220. These models are a welcome addition to the extremely popular A-series range of easy-to-use, high quality yet cost-conscious compact cameras.

According to Mr. Kenichi Tanaka, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, “Just because these cameras are affordable, this doesn’t mean that compromises have been made on functionality or quality. As with other A series models, the cameras are packed full of the technology you need to take a good picture. The 10 mega pixel sensor on the A170 and the 12 mega pixel sensor of the A220 produce bright, detailed pictures of extraordinary high resolution and clarity.”

It is often difficult to capture the full beauty of a sweeping landscape or a picture of a large group of people, at a wedding for example. Now in the A170 and A220 you can easily create impressive panoramic photos. Panorama Mode captures and combines up to 3 consecutive shots seamlessly, making one large panoramic shot.

To make taking great images as easy as possible, the A220 and the A170 both have Scene Recognition AUTO, first A series models to have this feature. Both the models cleverly detect a scene without needing to pre-select the mode on the camera. FUJIFILM has developed proprietary technology which intelligently identifies and recognises 6 different scenes – Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Backlit Portrait, Night and Night Portrait. Once the scene in the frame has been detected, the camera will optimise the settings to capture the most stunning photo of your chosen subject. Portrait Mode works in conjunction with Face Detection technology to get the best possible portraits.

Also featuring FUJIFILM’s Picture Stabilization Mode, both the new A-series cameras allow you to wave goodbye to blurry pictures. This technology produces pin-sharp pictures, time after time. Remembering to charge your batteries need never be a problem with these cameras. Operating on two standard AA batteries, both cameras have exceptional low power consumption, offering no excuse to miss a shot.
