GE Healthcare to expand Indian life sciences footprint

Exclusive distribution agreement with Spinco Biotech provides customers with improved access to life sciences product range 

GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), expands its life sciences footprint in India with an exclusive distribution agreement with Spinco Biotech, a leading distributor of analytical and life science instruments, reagents and chemicals.

Customers will now have access to a range of GE Healthcare’s life sciences products including chemicals, membrane and films, electrophoresis units and reagents, sample prep, bioassays and chromatography media products through this distribution partnership. This will provide customers with an unparalleled combination of more compelling solutions, product quality and value.

GE Healthcare will also continue as a direct distributor in India for its flagship bioprocessing and drug discovery product ranges such as ÄKTA™, Biacore™ and IN Cell, as well as offering technical and service support to all customers.

The life sciences division of GE Healthcare delivers breakthroughs in drug discovery, biopharmaceutical research and manufacturing and the latest in cellular technologies so scientists and specialists can discover news ways to predict, diagnose and treat diseases earlier. The business also makes systems and equipment for the purification of biopharmaceuticals.  GE Healthcare’s life sciences business has been steadily increasing its footprint in India with the setting up a R&D center, Fast Trak™ BioPharma Services and an education center in Bangalore.
