Jaypee Greens-United Cup 2010 reaches to final stages

Quarter-finals, scheduled on 5th March (Friday) and Semi-finals & Finals on 6th March 2010 (Saturday)

Jaypee Greens’ endeavour to support and promote sporting events to enhance urban lifestyle reached a new milestone with Jaypee Greens-United Cup 2010. The tournament, unique six-a-side football tournament being played between teams of various Embassies and High Commissions in Delhi, had kick started in the state of the art Atlantis - The Club at Jaypee Integrated Sports Complex, Greater Noida. Teams from 16 countries have participated in the tournament.

The league matches of the tournament were organized from 26th to 28th February 2010. The league matches started well with sixteen (16) teams playing brilliantly on the fields with an aim to qualify for the Quarter-finals, scheduled on 5th March (Friday) and Semi-finals & Finals on 6th March 2010(Saturday). These league matches had an enthralling display of football skills which were witnessed by a crowd of enthusiastic high-profile spectators, mainly representatives from High Commissions, their associates and families including the High Commissioners of South Africa and Gambia.

This tournament has been successful in highlighting the importance of recreational activities in an individual’s life. One can understand this by looking at the team players who are professionals in their own fields, but also play for a healthy lifestyle. All the teams received very good support from their colleagues and supporters so far. The teams who have made to the quarter final are: Russia, World Team, Israel, Gambia, South Africa, Chile, Congo and India.
