LinkedIn India appoints new heads for Marketing and Hiring Solutions

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with more than 65 million members globally, of which over five million are in India, today announced two key appointments. Sandeep Suvarna has joined LinkedIn India as Head of Marketing and Irfan Abdulla as Head of Hiring Solutions to further strengthen and expand LinkedIn’s presence in India.

As Head of Marketing, Suvarna’s key focus will be to drive awareness and increase usage of LinkedIn’s solutions, features and products for members, advertisers and recruiters on LinkedIn. Suvarna joins LinkedIn from NetworkPlay where he focused on sales strategy for the company. With over five years of experience in marketing and internet industry, Suvarna also served in marketing positions at Yahoo! and MySpace. Abdulla joins LinkedIn India as Head of Hiring Solutions. He will focus on growing and further developing the market for LinkedIn’s suite of Hiring solutions products, which are being successfully used by organizations and recruiters across the world. “As we increase our focus on localized member engagement, our core team of dynamic and experienced business heads will develop local programs to increase member adoption in India through LinkedIn’s suite of products and solutions” said Hari V. Krishnan, country manager of LinkedIn India.

LinkedIn members are using Groups, Answers and Polls to engage, collaborate and even grow business opportunities with professionals globally. The company’s integration with BlackBerry smartphones, Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and Twitter continues to drive member adoption and engagement.
