Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI), North India’s Largest Educational Group, organised, in the capital, Sharda Global Conclave 2011. The latter saw the congregation of Ambassadors, First Secretaries of State and other Senior State mission officials from 25 Embassies including China, Syria, Bangladesh, Nepal, Qatar, Iran and Iraq among others.

SGI, which has under its flagship six colleges apart from the premier Sharda University and Sharda Global Wellness Centre - a leading multi-specialty hospital in NCR region, brought together world’s finest authorities on medical tourism in the global conclave. The latter highlighted the fact of India’s increasing presence as a global destination for medical tourism. The conclave expounded the factors behind the continuous growth of India’s medical tourism industry. It was elucidated that the reason India is a favorable destination is because of it's infrastructure and technology in which the country is in par with those in USA, UK and Europe thus providing ‘First world health care at Third world prices’.

Also presented and discussed in the conclave were the key points of the new market research report “Booming Medical Tourism in India” (as undertaken by SGI). The report explicated that medical tourism market is expected to be worth USD100 Bn by 2012 and ~USD 500 Bn by 2020 and India is leading this revolution. India’s share in the global medical tourism industry will reach around 3% by the end of 2013.

Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman SGI Group and Chancellor Sharda University, said, “Sharda Group of Institutions has established itself as a pioneer in technical education in North India. Beside education, we are also focusing on healthcare sector. It is with this effect that we take pleasure in organising a Global Conclave on the boom of India’s medical tourism industry. Today, our country is positioned among the leading healthcare providers in the medical tourism sector. We are significantly contributing to the popularisation and rapid growth of this industry thanks to our skilled doctors and improved infrastructure and technology. It is the mission of SGI through Sharda Global Wellness Centre, to offer medical facilities of international standards in the region.”
