Initiates first-of-its-kind knowledge platform to educate, interact and share the strategic inputs with members of the AICFWC

Shreyas Relay Systems today announced that the company has entered into a strategic alliance with All India Coastal Forwarder Welfare Committee (AICFWC), India’s only association focusing on domestic cargo in containers using costal shipping. The company organized ‘Trade & Logistics Knowledge forum 2011’, a knowledge-based interactive platform on Logistics segment for the members of the association. The first series of event was recently organized at Gandhidham, witnessing complete strength of association members’ participation.

Shreyas Relay Systems through this strategic alliance aims to bridge up the knowledge gap amongst the members of AICFWC by creating a knowledge-interactive platform. The company at regular intervals will conduct such knowledge forums jointly with AICFWC to educate the members on best practices in Logistics and Transportation planning, various mandatory documentation requirements and trade development models that are likely to be implemented in near future. Overall it will help the members address key issues and challenges that are faced at macro-level and will equip them better to cater the logistics requirement of their clients.

All India Coastal Forwarder Welfare Committee is the only association in India whose members are purely focusing on carrying domestic cargo in containers using costal shipping. The members’ of the association cover 90 per cent of the total market share of domestic cargo in containers.

Commenting on the alliance, Mr. S. Varadarajan, Chief Executive Officer, Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd, “Leading companies in India are leveraging several strategies to respond to the complexity of logistics management in an effort to reduce transportation costs and improve service levels while still focusing on the "buy anywhere, sell everywhere" business model. As a result, logistics is becoming a more strategic business function at companies where it has not traditionally been a core competency. Our alliance with AICFW will help create a knowledge platform on these grounds for its members to get better equipped to cater the diversified industry segments.”

“AICFWC association is to promote the interest of domestic cargo in containers using coastal shipping. There are many policy and operational issues and same needs to be addressed and this association will strive to address same with all authorities. The members of this association carry almost 90 percent of the cargo in this segment. We have actively promoted this concept with all our clients and convinced them to embrace this mode.

Recently Shreyas Relay Systems approached us with the concept of creating a knowledge platform through an interactive session. Shreyas Relay Systems being pioneers in coastal trade it was a very good opportunity for our members to interact and understand many issues. It is very important that we embrace the best trade practices so that we are able to protect interest of our customers and also ensure they get the best of the services. In this regard such alliances will play a major role. We are also now open to such interaction with other companies to ensure we enhance our abilities.

We sincerely appreciate such initiatives of Shreyas Relay Systems which will go a long way in establishing this trade and induce practices which are best in trade.” Said by Mr. Rahul Modi, President, All India Coastal Forwarder Welfare Committee.
