Simplex Infrastructures has chosen IBM as it’s trusted partner to cover all their IT needs involving hardware, software and services solutions for mailing, data back-up and storage, running the ERP and Datacenter set-up to manage the growth in business and track all construction projects of the company effectively.

Simplex Infrastructures’ association with IBM started in 2004 when they decided to go for IBM Lotus Domino Enterprise Server for mailing requirement. They also bought centralized E-mail archiving solution from IBM to avoid loss of any business mails as well as to achieve regulatory compliance. Thereafter, multiple IBM Software & Hardware products have been purchased by Simplex in the last few years including IBM Tivoli Storage manager for data backup and recovery, IBM DB2 Content manager for mail archiving, IBM Power Systems Servers & Storage for deploying the in-house developed ERP solution, and services towards network upgrade and modernization.

Recently, IBM designed the new Data Center at Simplex Infrastructures site in Kolkata and implemented the project including supply of Precision Air-conditioners & Redundant UPS Systems.  The job was completed within specified time and maintaining high standards without a hitch.  All construction projects of Simplex are connected to this data center and it has become the nerve center of their organization.

Earlier Simplex had set-up a small server room on their own to meet the basic IT needs but later due to the tremendous growth in business, a professional and state of art Datacentre was needed. Hence they decided to upgrade their server and storage systems and also economise on space utilization. IBM expertise in Datacentre setup including planning the power & cooling facilities were put to use and now Simplex has a new DC with redundancy built at all levels for high-uptime. Moreover the maintenance of critical infrastructure equipment in DC has become easier and cost effective.
