Sudip Bandyopadhyay, widely regarded as a financial wizard, joined BK Modi promoted Spice Group as Group President Financial Services after heading the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group’s Reliance Money for over four and half years.
Welcoming aboard Mr Badhyopadhyay, Mr Modi said: “We are extremely happy that Sudip has joined our team to lead the finance services. We are making major investments in this growing sector and are sure that Sudip will take us to new heights and help the group to spread its foot print pan-India as well as globally in the financial services arena.”
“Sudip will lead the efforts of the Group in building Spice Brand amongst the investing community globally,” he added.
On his new assignment, Mr Bandyopadhyay said: “It is a big challenge which is exciting as well. The financial services in India will witness an exponential growth as the country’s economy grows at a rapid pace. The opportunities here are unlimited. There are significant opportunities in the I to I (Israel to Indonesia) region also.”
Mr. Bandyopadhyay has over two-decades of industry experience having worked with companies like ITC, ICI and HLL, apart from Reliance ADA Group.
Spice Finance has drawn plans for a whole range of new businesses in the financial services space such as international remittances, insurance, asset management, microfinance, broking and distribution etc. Spice Finance will be the holding company for these ventures. The Group has recently acquired more than 60% stake in Wall Street Finance, which is into money changing and transfer business.
