Tanla Ltd, a full-service provider of license management and on-device payment in the wireless software industry, announced it will be giving away over $1.3 million (US) in licenses of its Tanla License Manager solution to the winners of the 2010 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge as part of its global sponsorship of the developer competition. The prizes will be awarded to winners from each of the five regions: Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA), North America, South America, India and Asia-Pacific (APAC). The Grand Prize Winner and two runners up for each region will receive a 12-month license valued at over $70,000 US. Tanla will also be awarding a special recognition for the “Best Use of Tanla License Manager” for each region, where the winner will receive a 9-month license valued at over $58,000 US.
Tanla License Manager is an advanced 24/7 service solution to control and charge for end-user access to mobile content. The solution enables mobile software vendors and content distributors to distribute mobile applications securely to the hands of consumers and to collect money from them globally with convenient payment options and a seamless user experience.
Tanla offers the contestants an opportunity to get unlimited access to the License Manager SDK in order to integrate their mobile LBS application from the competition in Tanla’s comprehensive license management and mobile payment software. By sponsoring the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge, Tanla is encouraging consumers and content providers to use and develop location-based services, recently a growing segment not only for the whole software industry but also for Tanla’s own products. For Tanla, the Global LBS Challenge presents a significant opportunity to highlight Tanla License Manager as a unique and renowned payment solution for location-based software.
“NAVTEQ is keen to make it easier for developers to monetize their applications and for consumers to be able to pay for the use of location-based services and location content in a flexible and easy way. This is crucial for increased consumer adoption,” says Marc Naddell, vice president, Partner & Developer Programs, NAVTEQ. “The NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge is the perfect vehicle for stimulating the adoption of innovative solutions like Tanla’s License Manager among some of the industry’s most talented developers. We’re pleased to welcome Tanla as a global sponsor for this year’s competition.”
“Tanla’s sponsorship in the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge emphasizes our commitment and contribution to the development of new, innovative LBS services,” says Uday Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, Tanla Solutions.
