uPrint TM breaks $15,000 barrier with fully functional, desktop-sized 3D printer.
DesignTech Systems Ltd. an esteemed country wide distributor of Stratasys Incorporated, today launched uPrint™ – A Personal 3D Printer from their Dimension Series in India. uPrint™, the world’s first 3D Printer is available at the record breaking low price of $ 14,900 for immediate purchase through DesignTech Systems Ltd.
“uPrint™ is an important advance for Dimension’s product line, providing users a networked, desktop-sized 3D printer capable of building durable, accurate models ready for testing,” said Woody Frost, Vice President – International Sales, Stratasys. “uPrint™ will appeal to designers, engineers, architects, artists, teachers and others working in CAD. With uPrint™, they can get an affordable, high-quality 3D modeling system that’s available today.”
Designed for the desktop, uPrint requires only a 25 x 26 in. footprint and features an 8 x 6 x 6 in. build envelope.
Mr. Pradeep Nair, Stratasys Regional Director ASEAN and India said “ uPrint™ features automated support removal system, allowing for hands-free removal of the support saving labour and enhancing the ease of use of material. As a personal 3D printer, uPrint™ makes 3D printing immediate and convenient for, every design iteration. There's no waiting in queue for a shared printer and no waiting for models to arrive from an outside service”.
Mr. Vikas Khanvelkar, Managing Director, DesignTech Systems Ltd said “uPrint ™breaks the $15,000 barrier with a fully functional, desktop-sized 3D printer. We at DesignTech see immense potential to sell uPrint™ to many Product Design Companies. With its small foot print and low cost, it will find place practically in every design group”.
Using Dimension’s proven FDM technology, uPrint™ prints models with Stratasys ABS plus — a material on average 40 percent stronger than the company’s previous ABS material, making it ideally suited for testing the form, fit and function of models and prototypes.
