"The control room will remain open 24 hours under the supervision of an IG-level officer and a secretary-level officer to keep watch on the situation across the state during the festival," Home Secretary Basudev Bandopadhyay said today.
Denying reports in a section of the press that all ministers and secretaries would be attending offices on all 10 days, the home secretary said that the secretaries attached to the Disaster Management department would be on duty.
Those officers, who had either did not opted for holiday or were not granted holiday, would attend duties from their residences and would be ready to report in an emergency, he said.
