The film has earned ten nominations in all, including 'Best Picture' and 'Best Director'.
Actors Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne have also been nominated in the acting categories for their roles in "Les Miserables", reported E! online.
"Silver Linings Playbook" is also up for multiple awards, including 'Best Picture' and 'Best Actor' and 'Actress' nods for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
The 'Motion Picture, Animated or Mixed Media' category pits current US box office hit "Wreck-It Ralph" against "ParaNorman", "Rise of the Guardians", "Brave", "Ice Age 4", "Madagascar" and Tim Burton's "Frankenweenie'.
The 2012 Satellite Awards, which are chosen by the International Press Academy, will be handed out on December 16 in Century City, CA.
