SC certificates of 173 found to be fake in Tripura

The State Level Schedule Caste Scrutiny Committee (SLSCC) received complaints against 870 persons falsely using SC certificates to avail benefits.

Of the 870 complaints, 227 were found to be fake, while 400 were pending and 17 were in different courts.

So far, 17 employees were sacked and employment offers of six employees were recently cancelled because of forged certificates, the sources said.

The SC certificate of Tripura's ruling RSP MLA Partha Das was cancelled after it was found to be forged.

The certificate was cancelled on July 31 by the State Level Schedule Caste Scrutiny Committee (SLSCC) after a series of hearings.

His case was also pending in the Agartala bench of Gauhati High Court.
