1.1 kg of synthetic drug seized on Indo-Nepal border, 1 held

Synthetic drugs worth Rs 6 crore in the international market were today seized by the SSB on the Indo-Nepal Border in West Bengal.
Troops of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) deployed at Ranidanga in West Bengal seized two Boxes of Methamphetamine (ICE) synthetic drug weighing 1.1 kg and apprehended one person, Shankar Ghosh, coming from Nepal, with the drugs, the SSB said in a statement.
The seized drug is the purest form of Methamphetamine, a strong stimulant and is more potent than cocaine.
On checking through the drug detection kit, its purity level is found to be very high, it said.

The seized contraband and Ghosh have been handed over to the local Police and investigation is underway, the statement said.
