One person was killed and six others were injured in a clash between two groups over a property dispute in Mehjooda village under the Suryava police station here, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place Friday night, when the two groups, armed with lathis, clashed with each other, leaving Rama Chaudhan alias Ramae (58) dead and his wife and two sons injured, Circle Officer (CO) Abhishek Pandey said.
Three members of the group that assaulted Chaudhan were also injured in the incident, he said, adding that they were admitted to the district hospital, where the condition of two of them was stated to be serious.
An FIR was lodged against six persons, of whom one was arrested, Pandey said.
Additional police personnel were deployed in the village as a precautionary measure, the CO added.
