1 killed in landslide in Kerala's Wayanad district

A 48-year-old man was killed and another person injured in a land slide near a resort in this hilly district today following heavy rains.
Kunhu Muhammed died on the spot while 52-year old Unni had been admitted to a hospital in Kalpetta with injuries, police said.
The incident occurred in remote Padinjarathara.
Various parts of the district were being lashed by heavy rains for the last two days.
Holiday had been declared for all educational institutions barring professional colleges in the district for today in view of the continuing rains, district officials said.
