4,179 nominations were filed on the last day on May 18, an official release said.
Among the 10,271 nominations 815 have been filed by people belonging to Scheduled Castes, 609 by people belonging to Scheduled tribes, 2,665 by people belonging to backward classes and 6,182 in the general category.
A total of 4,331 women are in the fray for the elections scheduled to be held on May 29. Tomorrow is the last date to withdraw nominations. Election are being held for 3,399 seats in 227 gram panchayats.
