At least ten people were killed today and over two dozen sustained injuries when a bus fell down a hilly road in northeast Nepal.
The bus carrying 40 people, who were going to celebrate the Hindu festival of Vijaya Dashami, fell some 150 metres down the hilly road at Lakuri Daanda in Dolakha district, police said.
Nine passengers died on the spot while a child breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Charikot Community Hospital, they said.
The police carried out the rescue work with the help of locals and the injured were admitted to nearby hospitals.
