The deceased, identified as Sonu, was playing in the fields when he was crushed under the wheels of the vehicle while it was reversing, said a senior police officer.
Hearing the boy's screams, the family members rushed out and took him to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chander Hospital in the same tempo that had crushed him but he was declared "brought dead" at the hospital, he added.
The driver, Brijlal (30), was arrested from the spot and booked under sections 304(A) (causing death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the IPC, said the officer.
The boy's father, Mahender Singh, works in Bhorgarh industrial area and the family hails from Rewari.
