According to police sources in Bahraich, a 25-year-old man, Akil, and one Matin (18) died in Kaisergang. Other deceased were identified as -- Dhramendra (15) in Bondi, Dhaniram (23) and Kaudi (10) in Vishveshwarganj.
A 68-year-old man, Om Prakash, and another unidentified elderly in Payagpur area were also killed due to lightning.
In Shrawasti, Pushpa (58), Ruby (10) died in Basnera village of Ikauna area; Usman (15) and Farida (25) in Birpur village in similar incidents, the sources said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
