YRF Entertainment to produce Hollywood movie on Bergman

After Nicole Kidman starrer 'Grace of Monaco', Uday Chopra and scribe Arash Amel are coming together to produce a movie on Hollywood icon Ingrid Bergman's doomed romance with war photographer Robert Capa.
'Seducing Ingrid Bergman', based on Chris Greenhalgh's book of the same name, will be produced by Yash Raj Films' Hollywood arm YRF Entertainment.
Amel will adapt the book and will produce with Chopra, as they did together on the Olivier Dahan directed 'Grace of Monaco', which again was based on actress Grace Kelly's marriage to Monaco's prince. 'Grace...' is being released later this year by The Weinstein Company.

"There are certain untold stories which on hearing, one realises that not only is it a very moving story of a woman but it also seems to deliver a message which goes deeper than the life of just one woman. Ingrid Bergman was just such an icon and her romance with Robert Capa, the legendary war photographer, is a story that needs to be told," Chopra said in a statement.
"I believe that Arash Amel, who also wrote 'Grace of Monaco', is the perfect writer to bring this story to life and I'm very excited to have YRF Entertainment bring it to the world," he added.

The script is near completion and the producers are in the process of locking the director and the cast. YRF Entertainment's Head of Development & Production, Jonathan Reiman, will executive produce the picture.

Greenhalgh's book is a dramatised account of Bergman's romance with Capa while she was still married to first husband Petter Aron Lindstrom.
The 'Casablanca' star met Capa while visiting Paris post the Second World War. Capa came to Hollywood with Bergman, who was apparently willing to put her Hollywood career at stake to marry the photographer. Unable to fit in the glitzy world of showbiz, Capa ended the affair.

The actress eventually fell in love again with Italian director Roberto Rossellini during the filming of 'Stromboli' in 1950. The romance caused a huge scandal in the US. Bergman married Rossellini and the couple had three children.
