11 ft tall statue of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu inaugurated

West Bengal Food Processing and Horticulture minister Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury today inaugurated a 11 ft tall statue of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at Ramkeli near Gaur in Malda district.
The statue was inaugurated to commemorate the visit of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to Ramkeli around 500 years ago.
A fair is also held in Ramkeli since Chaitanya's visit to the area. The fair is regarded as one of the oldest fair in the state.
