Although no swine flu death was reported in West Bengal today, 11 new cases were detected, taking the total number of infected people to 80 this year, a senior health official said here today.
Three out of the 11 new cases were from neighbouring states of Assam and Jharkhand while six were from the city and two from the districts, Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Moloy Dey told PTI today.
"Two patients from Assam are admitted to the North Bengal Medical College while another from Jharkhand was admitted to a private hospital there. Among the six infected in the city, two are children while one each from the North 24 Parganas and South 24-Parganas districts," Dey said.
Since January, five persons have died of swine flu.
