The troops, six each selected from the 20 battalions of the force for anti-Maoist operations, were given special tickets by the CRPF top brass to watch the IPL T20 cricket match at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
"The jawans who were the best in operations were chosen to see this match in the state capital. This is nothing but an initiative to boost the morale of the troopers," a senior force officer said.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) brought these jawans to Raipur from far-flung posts of the force deployed in the state, some from as far as the naxal hotbed of Bastar.
The KKR team also met the troopers of the force at their camp in Raipur yesterday as part of the unique initiative planned by the force to boost the morale of its men tasked for these hard duties in the state.
