Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Monday said 129 blocks in 18 districts of the state has been affected by drought.
The state government has sent a report to the Centre in this regard, he was quoted as saying in an official release.
Under the Fasal Bima Yozana, Das said the government will distribute Rs 5 crore in Palamau, Rs 4.66 crore in Garhwa and Rs 28.33 lakh in Latehar districts.
The amounts will be given for losses incurred by farmers for 2015-16 and 2016-17 financial years.
Addressing a programme in Medininagar, the headquarters of Palamau district, the chief minister said over 14.78 lakh farmers of the state have been insured under the Fasal Bima Yozana.
On the occasion, he laid foundation stones of projects worth Rs 238.88 crore and inaugurated schemes worth Rs 47.03 crore, the release said.
