DTC has now asked Delhi Police to register a criminal case against them.
According to a senior DTC official, CBI recently handed over a list of such drivers, who were suspected to get jobs in DTC on forged licences after an investigation in a case pertaining to fraud license.
"As per our initial investigation, all 13 drivers were found guilty for getting jobs in DTC on fake license. At the time of hiring, they showed that they got license from Mathura Authority. When DTC approached Mathura Authority, they said that these licenses were not issued by them", the official said.
"It was the responsibility of DSSB to check applicants' licenses before hiring them, but it didn't," he said.
"DTC chairman Debashree Mukherjee has written a letter to Delhi Police to register criminal case against them. Besides, we are also investigating the case on our own," the official said.
Asked why DTC has not suspended these drivers so far, he said that initial investigation found them guilty and once probe is completed, they would definitely sacked.
Many of them had got fake licenses issued in their names from Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Nagpur, among other states and got jobs in DTC.
