The 13-hour general strike imposed by the proscribed outfit KCP (Poirei) faction crippled normal life in Manipur today.
Most of the business establishments remained shut down while inter-state and inter-district passenger services came to an abrupt halt, official reports said.
Attendances at government offices were almost nil.
The strike, which came into effective last midnight, was called to press for demand for action against the Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) for his alleged irregular involvement in professor appointment issue.
