Over 500 personnel comprising different wings of police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Madhapur Division) Karthikeya and other senior police officers carried out the operation at Yellammabanda, PJR Nagar and Sikh Basthi.
The crime records showed that few pockets in Yellammabanda area are notorious shelters for recorded criminals like motorcycle lifters, house burglars, snatchers, ex-Maoists, DCP Karthikeya said, adding, the aim behind the operation was to recover stolen vehicles, property, weapons and drugs.
Police also seized four cars, 56 motorcycles and 12 auto rickshaws during the operation as they did not have relevant documents.
Similar operations will be conducted across the Cyberabad commissionerate to keep a check on anti-social elements and induce a sense of security among people, police said.
