1400 litres spirit seized, two persons held

Acting on a tip off, the excise sleuths raided the village and seized 1400 litres spirit contained in seven drums, the excise superintendent Deenbandhu said.

The large quantity of spirit was brought there to manufacture spurious liqour, he said, adding a machine for processing liqour, 10 kg rappers and other materials were also seized from the spot, he said.

Two persons, identified as Mohan Sah and Pannalal Sah, were arrested on charge of manufacturing spurious liqour, Deenbandhu said.
