East Champaran Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar said a team of the West Bengal police came here in connection with a case related to the abduction of a girl from Jalpaiguri district in that state on January 17.
"Our teams raided Dharampur village under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran and rescued eight girls and seven boys from an orchestra company there. All of them are in the age group of 16 to 20 years. The company owner, identified as Shankar, managed to give the police a slip," Kumar said.
The police team from West Bengal had left Bihar with the rescued persons, the police here said.
