15 boys and girls rescued from orchestra company

The Bihar police in a joint operation with the West Bengal police today rescued eight girls and seven boys from a village in East Champaran district where they worked for an orchestra company.
East Champaran Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar said a team of the West Bengal police came here in connection with a case related to the abduction of a girl from Jalpaiguri district in that state on January 17.
"Our teams raided Dharampur village under Kalyanpur police station in East Champaran and rescued eight girls and seven boys from an orchestra company there. All of them are in the age group of 16 to 20 years. The company owner, identified as Shankar, managed to give the police a slip," Kumar said.

The SP said the boys and girls from different places in West Bengal were brought to Bihar by middlemen to work for the orchestra as singers and dancers.
The police team from West Bengal had left Bihar with the rescued persons, the police here said.
