15 gold biscuits worth Rs 47 lakh seized, one arrested

Gold biscuits worth about Rs 47 lakh were recovered in two separate seizures and one passenger was arrested by customs personnel at the international airport here today.
Eight gold biscuits weighing 932 grams and worth about Rs 25 lakh were found abandoned in the toilet of a flight which arrived here from Dubai, customs officials said.
Seven gold biscuits weighing 816 gms and valued at about Rs 22 lakh were recovered from Basheer, who had kept them hidden in his rectum.
Basheer of Kasargod District, who arrived by the same flight, was arrested, the officials added.
