The incident took place in premises of the college in Hayathnagar, where local second-year engineering students exchanged fisticuffs with their counterparts from Bihar and hit each other with sticks, police said.
"There was some issue going on for the past one week between the two groups after some Telugu students reportedly passed certain remarks against the Bihari students that initially resulted in arguments. Today they attacked each other and at least 15 of them sustained minor injuries," said Hayathnagar Police Station Inspector P Venkateshwarlu.
The injured students were admitted to a hospital, police said, adding further probe was on.
