According to Kazipet Railway Police Circle Inspector Madhusudhan, the duo were coming from Hyderabad in Inter-City Express and had stocked the gold in two bags.
The workers were identified only as Veeresham and Yugender, employed with Bajjuri Jewellers near here.
When the police asked them to produce documents related to the consignment, they contacted their employer Bajjuri Vaikuntam.
The Inspector said Vaikuntam later arrived at the police station with relevant documents and informed that the gold stock had been ordered to meet the customer demand on 'Akshaya Tritiya' on April 21, a festival considered auspicious to buy precious metals.
