Farooq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Sirhama village of Sirigufwara, was arrested following recovery of 16 Kgs of poppy straw powder from his house, a police spokesperson said.
Police had raided the house on a specific information, he said.
A case has been registered in the matter, the spokesperson said, adding that further investigations are on.
