16 policemen injured in bus mishap

Altogether 16 policemen on their way to join panchayat poll duty were injured when the bus carrying them hit a tree and overturned near Diana river in Mal area of Jalpaiguri district today, police said.
Around 35 policemen were coming from Jaigan on Bhutan border to Mal for reporting to be on election duty when the accident occurred.
While 11 injured were admitted to Mal hospital, five were shifted to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital and their condition was stated to serious, police said.
