17 sentenced to life imprisonment in Bihar

Seventeen people were today sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two persons who did not vote for an influential candidate in the panchayat elections here seven years ago.
While awarding the sentence, Additional District and Sessions court judge Baidyanath also imposed on them a fine of Rs 5,000 each or six months additional imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, a group of people in Siswa village in the district had attacked and burnt the houses of people belonging to economically weaker sections killing two persons in 2006.
