According to police, the girl went missing on May 3 and was last seen by some locals who alleged that she was being forcibly carried away by a man, identified as Hem Singh, along with his two accomplices from a market here.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's mother, a case was yesterday registered against Singh and his associates under relevant sections of the IPC, they said.
Efforts were being made to locate the minor, police said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
