"Based on a tip off, a police team laid a trap at Press Enclave Road, near PTS Malviya Nagar, in which the accused Sunny Rathore landed," said Ishwar Singh, deputy commissioner of police (south district).
Three mobile phones were recovered from his possession, said the officer.
A police team was formed based on a complaint filed by Surender Kumar, ASI of Delhi Police, on 18 February.
"When Surender Kumar was attending nature's call near Dhauli Piou Bus Stand, M B Road, he was robbed of his cash and mobile at knifepoint," Singh said.
They used to target people at knifepoint near forest area along M B Road, he said.
