180 fighting bunkers to be constructed along Indo-Pak IB: Govt

Government is constructing 180 fighting bunkers for troops along the Indo-Pak International Border (IB) in Jammu, the government told Parliament today.
"Along the IB in Jammu region, government has approved construction of 179 kilometre composite bundh, which includes fortifying of existing observation posts and construction of 180 number of Naka-cum-machan-cum fighting bunkers inside the bundh," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
The government is yet to take a "final decision" on the proposal of Border Security Force (BSF) for construction of observation posts along the Indo-Pakistan border, he added.
